Berlin Passages
✦ About the Game
Berlin Passages is an interactive narrative that blends autofiction with the layered, ongoing history of Berlin.
It tells the story of my relocation to the city as a young foreign design student beginning a thesis project.
As I bike through parks, ride the S-Bahn, and explore the city’s hidden corners, you'll uncover traces of Berlin’s divided past — in its architecture, identity, and daily life.
You'll follow how I bond with an Ossi whose lived experience of East Berlin opens new ways of seeing — the legacy of division, the squatting movement of the '90s, and the rebellious roots of the techno scene.
Techno becomes more than music — it’s a space of resistance, release, and transformation. You’ll get the chance to step into it, get lost in it, and feel its pulse.
But summer doesn’t stand still. Through solitude, encounters, and historical revelations, you'll decide how Berlin’s past shapes my creative journey.
What do I want to create? What kind of story do I want to tell?
This is a game about connection, division, and reconnection — with others, with place, with history, and with the self.

✦ About Me
Hi! I'm June — a historian, writer, and designer originally from Mexico. I moved to Berlin to study a Master's in Open Design, where I discovered the magic of narrative design, blending my background in history with the creation of game-like experiences. Berlin stole my heart, leading me to create this interactive fiction, which I hope sparks excitement and curiosity about the city’s fascinating history and alternative culture. I'm currently pursuing the development of future narrative games, while working as a freelance graphic and editorial designer — and occasional artist.
